Director Shoji Kawamori has joined forces with screenwriter Hiroshi Ohnogi and character designer Takuya Saito to create Macross Zero - another mind blowing anime for the new millennium.
The new anime is a prequel to the original Macross series, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (1982). The series is also known as, but not related to Robotech: The Macross Saga (1984) in the U.S.
Taking place a year before the Zentraedi arrive on Earth, Macross Zero captures the final days of the Great War between the U.N. Spacy and anti-U.N. factions. After being shot down by the anti-U.N.'s newest fighter plane, ace pilot Shin Kudo finds himself on the remote island of Mayan, where technology is almost non-existent. As Shin tries to heal his wounds on the island, the tranquility of the place is unexpectedly shattered by a battle involving the U.N.'s newest fighter - the VF-0. |
